Category Questions
How our category hubs are organized and how to get the most out of them.
How are the tools organized into categories?
Every tool is filed under the single workflow stage where it does its primary job — Keyword Research, On-Page SEO, Technical SEO, Backlinks, Rank Tracking, or Local & Mobile. A meta tag generator is On-Page, not Technical, because its output is meta HTML. If a tool genuinely spans two stages, it appears in whichever category matches its most common use case.
Which category should I start with?
If you're launching a new site, start with Keyword Research to pick winnable topics, then Technical SEO to make sure Google can crawl what you build. Existing sites with traffic problems usually benefit most from Technical SEO and On-Page audits first — those surface the fastest wins.
Can I use tools from multiple categories together?
Yes, and you should. A typical workflow chains three or four: pull keyword ideas, run an On-Page audit against the top-ranking result, then validate backlinks and rank position over time. Every tool exports clean CSV/JSON so results feed straight into the next step.
Do I need an account to try tools in a category?
No. Every category hub lets you run any tool inline against a single URL with no sign-up, no watermark, and no daily cap. Accounts are only needed if you want to save projects, run bulk jobs, or hit the API.
Are new categories being added?
Yes. We add a new category whenever we ship 5+ tools that share a distinct workflow. AI Content Optimization and Programmatic SEO are both in active development and will graduate into their own hubs once the tool count is there.
How do I request a tool for a specific category?
Drop a request via the CTA at the bottom of the page or email hello@rankato.com with the workflow problem you're trying to solve. We prioritize requests that align with an existing category and show up more than once — real usage patterns drive the roadmap.
