Watermark PDFs in bulk

Add copyright notices, draft stamps, or logo watermarks to every page. Position, opacity, rotation controls. Preview before applying.

Watermarking is the fastest way to visually mark a PDF as confidential, draft, or belonging to you. The Rankato Watermarker overlays text (with any font, color, and rotation) or an image (typically a logo) on every page. Configurable position (nine anchor points + tiling), opacity, and rotation. All processing is client-side via pdf-lib.

Text and image modes

Text: type your watermark ("CONFIDENTIAL", copyright notice, URL). Pick font, size, color, opacity. Image: upload a PNG or JPEG (transparent PNG works best for logos). Both modes support the same positioning and rotation controls.

Position and tiling

Nine anchor positions or explicit x/y offset. Tile option repeats the watermark diagonally across the whole page — much harder to crop out but visually intrusive. Great for high-value proofs; corner placement for subtle branding.

Which pages get watermarked

Default: every page. Toggle to specify a range (e.g., only first page for a signature, or all except cover). Per-page override lets you skip specific pages entirely.

Tool FAQs

Everything you need to know about using Add Watermark to PDF.

Does my PDF get uploaded to a server?+

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using pdf-lib and pdf.js loaded as WebAssembly. Open your browser's Network tab while processing and you'll see zero uploads — your PDFs never leave your device. That's why confidential contracts, tax records, and internal docs are safe to run through this tool.

Can watermarks be removed?+

By determined actors with the right tools, yes — nothing in a PDF is truly permanent short of destructive redaction. Watermarks are a deterrent, not encryption.

Can I process multiple PDFs at once?+

Yes — batch mode is available on the Pro plan. Free users process one file at a time. Pro unlocks unlimited concurrent PDF processing across every tool in the suite.
