I Cannot Download an Export# Link to this article

Large exports are generated in the background and the link is time-limited. Most failed downloads are an expired link, a still-running export, or a permission mismatch.

Small exports download immediately. Larger ones are generated in the background and appear in Export History when ready.

1. The export is still generating# Link to this section

Open Export History. A row in progress is still being built — large backlink and keyword exports take time. You do not need to keep the page open; the row updates when it completes.

Download links are deliberately time-limited so exported data is not left permanently reachable. If yours has expired, re-run the export from Export History. Re-running an export of data you already collected does not consume allowance.

3. You do not have access# Link to this section

Exports belong to the workspace that produced them. If you have switched workspaces, or your role changed, the file may no longer be yours to download. Confirm you are in the right workspace.

4. The export failed# Link to this section

A failed row shows the reason. The usual cause is a result set that changed underneath the export — for example a project deleted mid-run. Re-running normally succeeds.

5. The browser blocked it# Link to this section

Pop-up blockers and strict download policies occasionally intercept generated files. Try the download link directly from Export History rather than from the report page, and check your browser's blocked-download notice.

6. The export is genuinely empty# Link to this section

If the filters produced no rows, the export completes with headers and no data. Widen the filters and re-run.

If a re-run fails the same way twice, contact support with the export row's timestamp and the report it came from.
