A Site Audit crawls your site with Rankato's own crawler and returns issues grouped by severity, each with the evidence behind it and a specific fix.
Site Audit is Rankato's own crawler — not a reseller of someone else's. It fetches your pages, renders them where needed, and checks them against a fixed set of technical, content, performance and structured-data rules.
Start the audit# Link to this section
- Open your project and choose Site Audit.
- Choose Run audit.
- Set the page limit. Your plan sets the ceiling; a smaller first run finishes faster and is usually enough to find the systemic problems.
- Decide whether to render JavaScript. Leave it on if your site is a single-page app or renders content client-side; turn it off for a faster crawl of a server-rendered site.
- Start the run. Crawling happens in the background — you can leave the page.

Issues are grouped by severity, and each one shows:
- What was found and on which URLs, with the crawled evidence.
- Why it matters for crawling, indexing, or ranking.
- How to fix it, written as a concrete change rather than generic advice.
Start at the top. Critical issues usually affect templates, so one fix often clears hundreds of URLs at once.
Crawl politeness# Link to this section
Rankato respects robots.txt and rate-limits itself. If your server is slow to respond, the crawler slows down rather than pushing harder — which is why a large audit on a slow host takes longer than you might expect.
