My Google Integration Disconnected# Link to this article
Google access tokens expire when a password changes, permissions are withdrawn, or access is revoked. Reconnecting restores ingestion and back-fills the gap where the source allows it.
Rankato holds a revocable, read-only authorisation from Google. Several ordinary events invalidate it.
Why it happens# Link to this section
- The Google account password was changed.
- Rankato's access was revoked in the Google account's security settings.
- The account lost access to the property or GA4 role it was authorised with — common after someone leaves.
- A Workspace administrator applied a policy that withdrew third-party access.
- The property or data stream was deleted or recreated in Google.
Reconnect# Link to this section
- Open your project and go to Settings → Integrations.
- The affected integration shows a disconnected state. Choose Reconnect.
- Sign in with an account that still has access to the property. It does not have to be the original account.
- Re-select the same property or GA4 stream. Selecting a different one starts a new data series rather than continuing the old one.
After reconnecting# Link to this section
Ingestion resumes on the next scheduled run. Rankato back-fills the missed window as far as the source makes that history available — Search Console allows this within its retention period, so most gaps close on their own.
Preventing repeat disconnections# Link to this section
Connect with an account that will outlast individual staff — a role or service account with property access rather than a personal one. That single change prevents most recurrences.
