Connect Google Analytics 4# Link to this article

Connecting GA4 lets Rankato read sessions, engagement and conversion data per landing page, so organic performance can be measured against what the page actually does.

Search Console tells you what happened in search. GA4 tells you what happened after the click. Connecting both lets Rankato report on a page end to end.

Connect it# Link to this section

  1. Open your project and go to Settings → Integrations.
  2. Choose Connect Google Analytics 4.
  3. Sign in with a Google account that has at least Viewer access to the GA4 property.
  4. Grant the read-only Analytics scope.
  5. Select the GA4 property and the data stream that corresponds to your project's domain.

What Rankato reads# Link to this section

  • Sessions and engaged sessions by landing page, filtered to organic search.
  • Engagement rate and average engagement time.
  • Key events and conversions, where you have configured them in GA4.

Rankato reads only aggregate reporting data. It does not read user-level records and does not write anything back to your GA4 property.

If the numbers look different from GA4's own UI# Link to this section

Check three things: the date range, the timezone set on the GA4 property, and whether the GA4 report you are comparing against is filtered to organic traffic. GA4 also applies data thresholding on small segments, which can make low-traffic pages differ.
